3-review rule for India vs New Zealand game questioned by Aaron Finch
Aaron Finch has raised his concern over why India and New Zealand have the privilege of getting three reviews each for the final match of World Test Championship. He raised this issue since there are neutral umpires for this game. The India vs New Zealand game has their umpires named Michael Gough and Richard Illingworth, both being from UK.
Also Finch responded to a fan tweet , being parcel of the cheeky banters by saying that he is contented with 2 reviews per team by agreed with the new review change made last year. The rule was the one that ICC implemented last year exclusively for Test cricket right after COVID 19. COVID-19 made break in travel constraints, thus the ICC temporarily removed the necessity to appoint neutral officials and umpires for a match.
The ICC seems to be in question for the WTC final with the Kiwis and India getting 3 reviews. Right now, Kiwis have used up one review which turned out to be unsuccessful. Kane Williamson reviewed this for a LBW call in the first session of WTC final, against the Hitman, Rohit Sharma. Stay tuned to the Midget Herald for more updates on sports news.
