With all the conspiracy theories and buzz going on about the currently establishing 5G network which already delivers us blistering fast Internet speeds, Samsung is already hard at work on the new 6G Mode of Mobile Communication Networks which already promises to leave the new 5G networks to dust. “While 5G commercialization is still in its initial stage, it’s never too early to start preparing for 6G because it typically takes around 10 years from the start of research to commercialization of a new generation of communications technology,” explained Sunghyun Choi, Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung.
The earliest prototypes of a working 6G System could appear as early as 2028 and its earliest commercial application could be established around 2030. This makes us wonder “What is the need to keep pushing for higher connection speeds? My Existing Network already delivers the most optimized network connection”.To that, the answer given is that that the 6G network is a network of the future. Technology is ever-evolving and improving exponentially in a very short span of time. Mobile devices are getting more and more advanced. The 6G network is meant to sustain the technology of the future where even the unlikeliest of devices like a toaster or a car will be connected to the internet.
The first question that pops up when the term 6G is mentioned is that “How much more powerful is this compared to the existing 5G or even 4G networks”. The answer is a LOT. Samsung released this crazy spec sheet on the areas where 6G has shown major improvements over 5G and it’s astonishing, to say the least. The Real question that most of the scientific theorizers are wondering about regarding 6G is that how harmful is it going to be and is it worth all the trouble. The way 5G became much faster than 4G is by using waves of high frequency which comes really close to the spectrum of radio waves which are sometimes in high dosages are considered dangerous. But here’s the catch it actually isn’t harmful as the waves need to be of very low wavelength somewhere around the size of our DNA Strands to actually be cancerous or harmful.
