Abhinav Bindra and Bajrang Punia gearing up for Tokyo Olympics 2021
The Tokyo Olympic Games will take place from August 8 to August 8, 2021. Wrestler Bajrang Punia is one of India’s top medal hopefuls. On August 8, he will be the Indian flag bearer at the closing ceremony. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) informed the games’ organising body of their decision.
At the closing ceremony, Bajrang Punia will be the Indian contingent’s flag bearer. For the first time in the Olympics, India will have two flag bearers (one male and one female). This information was just provided by IOA President Narinder Batra in order to achieve “gender equality” in the next Tokyo Olympics.
Abhinav Bindra, the country’s lone Olympic gold medallist in individual sports. Was the flag bearer during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro’s opening ceremony. The Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed for a year owing to the Kovid-19 pandemic, would include more than 100 Indian athletes.
After a 5-0 win against Irish Magno of the Philippines in the quarter-finals, second seed Mary Kom earned her second Olympic berth.
