According to the cab-aggregator-turned-EV manufacturer, the first phase of the electric scooter factory – Ola FutureFactory – will be operational shortly. More than 10 million man-hours have been scheduled for the plant to be operational in record time. In the first phase, the facility would be able to produce 20 lakh electric scooters. The huge facility will serve as Ola’s worldwide production centre for a variety of electric two-wheelers. The EVs produced at this facility will be marketed across India and exported to foreign markets like as Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Ola plant is said to be the most automated in India. It will be driven by Ola’s own AI (Artificial Intelligence) engine and technology stack, which will be tightly integrated into all manufacturing processes. When the plant is fully operational, about 5,000 robots and Automated Guided Vehicles will be deployed. Furthermore, despite the use of Industry 4.0 technology, the firm says that 10,000 employment will be created in this plant.
