As reported by several US tabloids, this what Matt Damon had to say about his sexual harrasement
As reported by several US tabloids as well as the entertainment website Variety, Matt Damon explained his position in the following words:
When I was interviewed recently, I recalled a conversation I had with my daughter in which I attempted to contextualise for her the progress that has been made – though by no means complete – since I was growing up in Boston and, as a child, heard the word ‘f*g’ used on the street before I even understood what it referred to,” he said.
“I stated that the term was used frequently and casually, and that it was even a line of dialogue in one of my films as recently as 2003; she, in turn, expressed surprise that there could have ever been a period when such word was used unthinkingly.
I was impressed and proud of her for being so expressive about the level to which that phrase would have been terrible to someone in the LGBTQ+ community, regardless of how culturally normalised it had become.” Not only did I agree with her, but I was also inspired by her passion, beliefs, and quest for social justice. ”
