Out of all the pacers, Steyn singled out Siraj for special appreciation, believes him to be the future of Indian pace bowling
Dale Steyn has praised India’s current crop of fast bowlers, advising the Test pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj to stay in shape ahead of the five-match series against England.
In the recent several years, India’s fast bowling contingent has exploded. If India is to thrive in England’s changing circumstances, it will have to lead from the front, and Steyn believes they can only do so if they focus on staying healthy.
“While I watched sections of that little amount of fighting when he was in Australia, I thought he’d have a strong Test career. Don’t forget about a quick bowler’s mentality as well. Perhaps India would have appreciated that in the World Test Championship final, but it would have come at the cost of a few more runs “South Africa’s pacer went on to say.
Out of all the pacers, Steyn singled out Siraj for special appreciation, believing the Indian fast brings a certain ‘attitude’ to the game that he believes is underappreciated in international cricket. Siraj, according to Steyn, demonstrates it, which is one of the things that distinguishes him.
