Pfizer Claims that its vaccine highly effective against the new Covid Delta variant

Pfizer is in its final stage of settling on agreements with India. A few days back it claimed that its vaccine is highly efficient in fighting against the new Covid delta variant that has attacked a whole lot of people in India. It was the delta variant that was considered to be the root cause of secnd wave in India. The delta mutant was also called the delta plus, has also been found in countries like UK, US apart from India.

“According to the data we have today, taking from research we are conducting at the lab and also taking into consideration the data from those places where the Indian variant, Delta, has replaced the British variant as the common variant, point to our vaccine being  effective, around 90%, in preventing the coronavirus , Covid-19,” Alon Rappaport, Pfizer’s medical director in Israel told Reuters .
