Sandeep Warrier, a new name in Indian T20 cricket is doing wonders
Sandeep Warrier began his career as primarily a swing bowler, but he has now added pace to his arsenal and can now bowl in the late 130s. Ahead of the star of IPL 2019, Warrier was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders as a backup for Kamlesh Nagarkoti after going unsold at the auction that year.
Warrier, who was also a reserve bowler for the Indian side during the home series against England earlier this year, has a strong domestic bowling record. Warrier was the best wicket-taker for Kerala in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking 12 wickets in six games and dominating the group stage with 44 wickets in ten games.
Warrier has only appeared in four IPL matches thus far, netting two wickets. Warrier and KKR teammate Varun Chakravarthy tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this year, forcing their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore to be rescheduled. Warrier had a hat-trick against Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, dismissing KV Sasikanth, Karn Sharma, and SK Ismail in the final over.
