The overall number of cases in Olympics has risen to 148.
Earlier this week, Tokyo officials said that 16 new instances of Covid-19 had been registered in the Olympic Games. There are three players in all. As a result, the overall number of cases involving sports has risen to 148.
Three players, four contractors, one employee, and eight other sports-related people tested positive for Covid-19, according to the organisers’ daily Covid-19 report. Three of the three players who tested positive did not live in the sports community.
After arriving in Tokyo, players from the Czech Republic, America, Chile, South Africa, and the Netherlands were determined to be infected with Covid-19.All three athletes, as well as seven people associated with sports, have been placed on a 14-day obligatory isolation period.
Four participants from the Czech Republic tested positive, and their participation in beach volleyball and road cycling was suspended as a result. So far, 16 instances have been discovered at the sports village since it opened. One athlete and one contractor are Japanese citizens.
