The central character Alice(Cricket Brown) is a deaf-mute girl who visits Virgin Mary and then the miracle happens. The girl becomes completely fit and she can hear and speak and is totally able to heal his sickness. Many people come to witness the miracle and among them the disgraced journalist Jeffrey Dean Morgan arises hoping to start anew in his carrier in the small town of New England to investigate the actual matter.

William Sadler, as the saintly but doomed Father Hagan (Alice in his niece), quotes Martin Luther, summing up the theme of the film: “Where God builds a church, the devil builds a chapel.”
