Todd Woodbridge Comments on Roger Federer’s grasscourt preparations
Roger Federer has always been the hearthrob of many. He is being considered as the second favorite righta after Novac Djokovic for the Wimbledon in 2021. However, owing to the knee injury, Federer has been inactive for some time and yet to prove his consistency as he used to maintain. Because of this injury he had to face a few defeats.
Most recently, the Swiss Federer lost the match to Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round of the 2021 Noventa Open in Halle. So the 40-year-old Federer has left everyone awaiting if he can defeat the winner of all time, Djokovic. Todd Woodbridge asserted out that Roger Federer is woefully short on match practice heading into SW19.
His fitness is fine but he’s lacking match play, That time away from the game is not easy and in Halle, in his lead-in tournament, went out to Felix Auger-Aliassime, the young Canadian. He’ll be sad not getting more matches under his belt on the grass. The hardest part about Halle is absolutely zero crowds, and that’s not good for Roger, He feeds off that and I think when he’s playing against opponents, they also feel that the crowd goes for him.”
