Vivo’s patent for a smartphone that includes an inbuilt flying camera.
Vivo has applied for a patent for a smartphone that includes an inbuilt flying camera. The camera is capable of detaching itself from the smartphone and flying through the air. Smartphone users will be able to capture images more creatively with such a camera design.
The patent was filed with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) in December 2020 and is titled “Electronic device” for Vivo Mobile Communication. The workings of the detachable flying camera were depicted in a sketch. Inside, batteries, camera sensors, and infrared sensors will be fused together.
According to the patent, the flying camera may be operated using the smartphone to which it is connected, and it will probably accept air gestures as well. While the patent shows two cameras connected to the module in the sketch, it also states that a third and fourth camera can be added.
Obviously, this is just a patent, and there is no guarantee that such a handset will be released in the future. In fact, given the existing state of affairs, the sensibility of a specific concept is unrealistic.
